Erin (my wife) and I arrived in Australia in anticipation, to find a wonderful, sunny country... we were not disappointed.
We both agree that we had the best time we have ever had. We met with a wonderful group of people, of whom most I am still in contact with, and two great trek leaders.
Travelling up the East coast from Sydney to Cairns was simply amazing, the highlight being two days on Fraser island, where our first trek leader Gerard, forgot to tie the lid on the box of food and dishes, which ultimately went flying along the beach with its contents. Very weird experience, running around chasing kitchen roll along a beach in Australia.
The Great Barrier Reef was just breathtaking, and a nice way to say goodbye to the sea, as we headed inland towards Darwin. The vast open spaces of Australia and baroness is simply amazing. The time in the Northern Territory, and Kakadu National Park was brilliant, learning all about aboriginal life and culture.
But that was nothing compared to the awe-inspiring Uluru. Here we met with Paul, our second trek leader. A brief stop in Coober Pedy and Adelaide and back to Sydney. Both Gerard and Paul made it the holiday it was... brilliant, thanks guys
